Scratch, Sutori, and Virtual Experience
My scratch activity is a game for Kindergarten students. Within my game is three different activities for the students that touch on addition and subtraction problems less than or equal to ten. My scratch game is designed to help with standard K.OA.A.3, which is adding and subtracting numbers less than or equal to ten by using objects, drawings, etc. This game starts by having students click which activity they want to play, either balloons, ghost, or soccer balls. Once they click one of those activities, they play that game and can return to the home screen to restart and choose one of the others. The soccer ball game involves a word problem and is a drag and drop style game. The ghost game is dragging a set of numbers that equals 10 to the square. Finally, the balloons games ask students addition problems and has them type in their answer. I chose to do this type of game because as a student I always enjoyed small activities like this. The game itself has three different activities for students so I thought they may enjoy it a bit more, since they get to choose what they want to do. Math can be really difficult for some students so having activities, like the one I created, is a great way for students to get a lot of practice anywhere that has internet and technology access.
I chose this topic because as a student, I always found the Articles of Confederation to be interesting. My timeline is in chronological order. I ordered it so that it touched on the two Continental Congress’ before the Articles of Confederations. I thought it was important for students to see artifacts and important information on the Congress meetings to better understand the Articles. My timeline uses video and audio to better explain important aspects while using photographs to touch on essential people during this time and events. Using the images, videos, and audios is a lot easier to give students information than just having them read or research on their own. I think it is also a lot more fun for students to view a timeline that includes these forms of information versus just written information.
