Geogebra offers an extremely high number of applets for students ranging from PreK-sixth grade. I have learned that when teaching students, that each child learns different and has their own style to understanding material. GeoGebra is a very useful website because it provides applets for those children that will suit many of their styles. When teaching science and math subjects, this is definitely a site I would use in my classroom. I have taught a math lesson previously in Baltimore County when I went to my old university (Stevenson) and if I had known about this site before, I would have utilized some of the applets they offered. With online school, especially in today’s time, this is a very powerful tool that I believe many teachers should utilize. When using the GeoGebra applets, I discovered how straight forward and easy they were to use and navigate, which is very helpful to students. I also currently work at a daycare, in a classroom with kids who do online class via zoom. I know many of the kids I work with struggle with math class, so GeoGebra is an amazing way to help them with some of the units they are working on in school. PhET is a website that offers a game like environment to students through simulations on math and science topics. It not only offers simulations but teaching resources, and lessons. The site offers subjects such as math, physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science. This site is a great way for students to learn various science topics through simulations. It is fun and interactive for the students, so it may be easier for them to maintain interest when doing an interactive activity through this site. As a teacher, I would definitely utilize this site in my classroom when on science subjects. I think that students are able to learn a lot more doing a some-what hands on activity and this offers that in a simulation way. When using the PhET simulation I seen how easy and accessible it was. It’s great that students are able to do the simulations at home, in the classroom, or really anywhere.
